Well they made up a figure And they called it you And they bought you a market For the things you do And you drop like a name Right into the scene You're the Queen of America But what does that mean? Well they made you a promise And they kept it too And you're sure you earned it Cause you always knew But I pulled your file And a funny thing You're the Queen of America But who's your King? Well they made up a figure And they called it you And they brought you to market With the things you do And you drop like a name Right into the sea You're the Queen of America But what does that mean?

Long Tom 02:35
Long Tom says It's just like a poem It's just like a song But I could never sing along & don't you know My deepest fear Is not the years -- It's all the threads that disappear Yet there was day I stood by your side The stories crashed History shook. And there was day I stood by your side Empires crashed History shook. Long Tom says It's just like a poem It's just like a song But I could never sing along. But I could never sing along. But I could never sing along.

This is not the life we chose But it's the life we know The world where I'm with you I've heard That there's another world A place we never met I know that can't be true

Miss McGinty's Ghost Checks the daily post For a letter from the coast And the leaves they squall Past Miss McGinty's wall As she marks another fall And they say you get used to all of it But I don't think that I could mend Miss McGinty's Ghost Checks the daily post Again Never spoke my mind. Tried not to be unkind. But I left you in a bind -- And the leaves they squall Past our garden wall As I'm waiting for your call And they say I'd get used to all of it But I don't think that I could mend Miss McGinty's Ghost Checks the daily post Again

Gods 05:58
When I was young I had my gods, And I believed in every one. When I was young I had my gods, And I believed in every one. When I was young I had my gods, And I believed in every one. When I was young I had my gods, And I believed in every one. And I won't take it back. And I won't take it back. And I won't take it back. And I won't take it back

Nicene Creed you always knew your wine excuse yourself for the thousandth time and brace your body for the hour you find we are all together. its like the sound of heaven when its heard from hell periodontal bliss did you ever freak as you made it through yet another week and what did he say you only heard the creak of your long together its like the sound of heaven when its heard from hell

You had the house in Brighton; it was more than you could make, waiting on your tables or a trade. But in the evenings, still a place where Williams could make sense: the smell of books, and quiet, and radiator steel. And the rain made you tall. You held it like a book as you were walking through the park, and Sunday bookstore coffee shops at noon. It had a certain majesty, the silence was so dark, you'd almost disappear, you'd melt into the room. And the rain made you tall.

about

This is the first physical release from The Russian Apartments. It compiles material recorded over the last three years. Digital Cover Art by Dylan Jones.

The 11 bonus tracks are old material from the now-retired digital mini-releases More Than Passion, The Last Last You, Double Phantasm, and Songs of Ambivalence and Experience. It was time to consolidate those into something more substantial.

As always, if you buy the digital album, you are free to share the tracks with whoever you like, cover the songs, remix them or whatever. They are released under a CC-BY licence.
